BRETT COX
Brett serves as Principal, Deputy Program Manager, and Team Lead for The Boeing Company's DFARS/CMMC Program Management Office for Cybersecurity Oversight, specializing in U.S. Government regulatory and policy compliance. A Lead CMMC Certified Assessor (CCA) and Certified CMMC Instructor (CCI), he brings 24 years of information technology experience, with more than 20 years focused on information security, risk management, and compliance leadership across the aerospace, defense, and enterprise sectors.
At Boeing, Brett leads a team safeguarding over $130 billion in contract awards across more than 250 programs under DFARS, NIST SP 800-171/172, and CMMC requirements. He guided Boeing through three DCMA DIBCAC assessments, each earning a perfect 110/110 score, including the 2024 Joint Surveillance Voluntary Assessment that qualified the Boeing Enterprise for CMMC Level 2, along with three additional Level 2 certifications for Boeing subsidiaries. Since 2014 he has also taught cybersecurity at Saint Louis University, where he is a CMMC, CISSP, and APMG-validated ISACA Certified Instructor for both CISM and CISA, a volunteer on the Cyber AB Assessment Guidance Committee, and a Subject Matter Expert for CompTIA exam development. A U.S. Army Veteran, he serves as a United States Army Reserve Ambassador to Missouri and as Region President Emeritus for the Midwest Region of the Association of the United States Army (AUSA).
In 2026, after more than four and a half years as a CMMC Provisional Instructor, Brett completed the transition to Certified CMMC Instructor (CCI), one of the newest credentials in the CMMC ecosystem.
Brett earned his M.S. in Cybersecurity from Maryville University and holds the CISSP, CSSLP, CISA, CISM, CySA+, and CompTIA SecurityX certifications, in addition to his Lead CCA and Certified CMMC Instructor (CCI) credentials.
