Domain 1: Information Systems Auditing Process: Providing audit services in line with recognized standards to help organizations protect and control their information systems, and forming sound conclusions on the state of an organization's IS/IT security, risk, and controls.

Domain 2: Governance and Management of IT: Confirming that the right leadership, structures, and processes are in place to support organizational objectives, and recommending enterprise-specific practices to safeguard the governance of information and technology.

Domain 3: Information Systems Acquisition, Development and Implementation: Providing assurance that how systems are acquired, developed, and implemented aligns with organizational strategy and objectives.

Domain 4: Information Systems Operations and Business Resilience: Providing assurance that day-to-day IT operations and business resilience practices continue to meet strategic and operational objectives.

Domain 5: Protection of Information Assets: Providing assurance that policies, standards, procedures, and controls protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information assets, with cybersecurity principles and pitfalls as a central focus.

This course prepares students to sit for the ISACA Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) certification exam, widely regarded as the gold standard credential for IT audit, assurance, security, and cybersecurity professionals. Enrollment includes instruction, guided study, and exam preparation aligned to ISACA's official CISA exam domains, with earning the ISACA certification as the intended outcome of the course, not simply a CyberDI certificate of completion.

Class content covers how to plan, execute, and report on audit engagements using a risk-based approach, how IT governance and management structures support organizational strategy, and how systems are acquired, developed, implemented, and operated in ways that meet business objectives and remain resilient. Students also work through how policies, standards, and controls protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information assets, with a strong emphasis on cybersecurity principles and common pitfalls.

Upon passing the CISA exam, students earn a globally recognized certification held by more than 150,000 professionals worldwide. Certified professionals are equipped to offer credible conclusions on an organization's IS/IT security, risk, and controls, and to identify critical issues while recommending practices that safeguard the governance of information and technology. CISA is also recognized for use with U.S. Department of Defense 8140 workforce qualifications, making it directly relevant to DoD-adjacent roles.

CyberDI classes stand out for their dynamic, real-world approach to teaching IT audit. While the core curriculum covers what is tested, our instructors go beyond that, bringing current, practical context on how audit practices are applied across regulated industries and the defense industrial base. Office hours remain a cornerstone of the experience, giving students the chance to work through real audit scenarios with an instructor in real time.

AI Maturity Model Certification Program

A connected pathway across AI Audit, AI Risk, and AI Security Management, delivered under CyberDI's ISACA training partnership, building on the same cybersecurity foundations that already secure the defense industrial base.

Your Next Step: AI Audit

CISA is the established standard for professionals who audit, control, and assess an organization's IT and business systems. As artificial intelligence becomes embedded across enterprise systems, that same independent verification skill set is now extending into AI.

CyberDI offers a direct pathway from CISA into ISACA's Advanced in AI Audit (AAIA) certification — the world's first advanced AI audit credential. AAIA is built for auditors who already hold a CISA and want to apply that same risk-based, evidence-driven approach to AI systems: assessing AI-specific risk, auditing AI implementations, and using AI tools to strengthen the audit process itself.

For professionals supporting the defense industrial base, this matters even more. CISA is already recognized under DoD 8140 for roles that assess CMMC programs. As AI increasingly touches CUI, FCI, and defense supply chain systems, AAIA extends that same DoD-aligned assurance into AI — keeping your CISA relevant as the systems you audit evolve.
